Jozua 9:24

SV	Zij dan antwoordden Jozua, en zeiden: Dewijl het aan uw knechten zekerlijk was te kennen gegeven, dat de HEERE, uw God, Zijn knecht Mozes geboden heeft, dat Hij ulieden al dit land geven, en al de inwoners des lands voor ulieder aangezicht verdelgen zoude, zo vreesden wij onzes levens zeer voor ulieder aangezichten; daarom hebben wij deze zaak gedaan.
WLC	וַיַּעֲנ֨וּ אֶת־יְהֹושֻׁ֜עַ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ כִּי֩ הֻגֵּ֨ד הֻגַּ֤ד לַעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֜ה יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַבְדֹּ֔ו לָתֵ֤ת לָכֶם֙ אֶת־כָּל־הָאָ֔רֶץ וּלְהַשְׁמִ֛יד אֶת־כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם וַנִּירָ֨א מְאֹ֤ד לְנַפְשֹׁתֵ֙ינוּ֙ מִפְּנֵיכֶ֔ם וַֽנַּעֲשֵׂ֖ה אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃
Trans.	wayy^a‘ănû ’eṯ-yəhwōšu‘a wayyō’mərû kî hugēḏ hugaḏ l^a‘ăḇāḏeyḵā ’ēṯ ’ăšer ṣiûâ JHWH ’ĕlōheyḵā ’eṯ-mōšeh ‘aḇədwō lāṯēṯ lāḵem ’eṯ-kāl-hā’āreṣ ûləhašəmîḏ ’eṯ-kāl-yōšəḇê hā’āreṣ mipənêḵem wannîrā’ mə’ōḏ lənafəšōṯênû mipənêḵem wann^a‘ăśēh ’eṯ-hadāḇār hazzeh:

AC	כד ויענו את יהושע ויאמרו כי הגד הגד לעבדיך את אשר צוה יהוה אלהיך את משה עבדו לתת לכם את כל הארץ ולהשמיד את כל ישבי הארץ מפניכם ונירא מאד לנפשתינו מפניכם ונעשה את הדבר הזה
ASV	And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that Jehovah thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you; therefore we were sore afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
BE	And, answering Joshua, they said, Because it came to the ears of your servants that the Lord your God had given orders to his servant Moses to give you all this land, and to send destruction on all the people living in it, because of you; so, fearing greatly for our lives because of you, we have done this.
Darby	And they answered Joshua and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants how that Jehovah thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you; and we feared greatly for our lives because of you, and did this thing.
ELB05	Und sie antworteten Josua und sprachen: Weil deinen Knechten für gewiß berichtet wurde, daß Jehova, dein Gott, Mose, seinem Knechte, geboten hat, euch das ganze Land zu geben und alle Bewohner des Landes vor euch zu vertilgen, so fürchteten wir sehr für unser Leben euretwegen und taten diese Sache.
LSG	Ils répondirent à Josué, et dirent: On avait rapporté à tes serviteurs les ordres de l'Eternel, ton Dieu, à Moïse, son serviteur, pour vous livrer tout le pays et pour en détruire devant vous tous les habitants, et votre présence nous a inspiré une grande crainte pour notre vie: voilà pourquoi nous avons agi de la sorte.
Sch	Sie antworteten Josua und sprachen: Es ist deinen Knechten als gewiß angezeigt worden, daß der HERR, dein Gott, Mose, seinem Knechte, geboten hat, euch das ganze Land zu geben und alle Einwohner des Landes vor euch her zu vertilgen; da fürchteten wir uns unseres Lebens halber sehr vor euch und haben darum solches getan.
Web	And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were greatly afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
